Frequently asked questions

Do I need an account?
No. Both MENOU and Pakapako work straight away with no sign-up.
Are there ads?
Neither app shows advertising. No ad SDK is included at all, so nothing unexpected ever appears on screen.
Do the apps work offline?
Pakapako is 100% offline and never connects to the internet.
MENOU runs everything essential on your device — training images, audio synthesis and the timer. It sends only anonymous usage statistics to help improve quality. See the MENOU Privacy Policy (Japanese) for details.
Where is my data stored? How do I delete it?
Settings and scores are stored only on your device and are never sent to any server. There is no account, so nothing needs to be cancelled — deleting the app also removes its data from your device.
Is Pakapako safe for children?
Pakapako is designed for little kids: no personal information is collected and no ads are shown. It also has a built-in rest-break feature. Please still let children use it under the supervision of a guardian.
Will MENOU improve my eyesight?
This app is not a medical device. It does not guarantee any effect, including improved eyesight, relief from eye strain, or better sleep. If you have an eye condition or are under treatment, consult your doctor before use. Stop immediately if you feel eye pain, headache or dizziness.
Can I try the apps in a browser?
Yes — try MENOU in your browser or play Pakapako in your browser, no install required.
The music doesn't play in the browser version of MENOU
The music tracks are available in the app only. The browser version plays the binaural beats, which are synthesised on the fly.
